We are on the brink of becoming ruled by a totalitarian regime, just like the ones our government says it needs to destroy to spread democracy around the world. What a crock.
During a press conference Bush actually said,
"It would be easier to have a dictatorship, as long as I'm the dictator".
Our pretend president and his cabinet believe that the executive branch should be the one that makes all of the decisions. Congress and the Supreme Court have been relegated to doing the bidding of the executive branch, and when Bush can't get exactly what he wants, he issues 'signing statements' that say he won't abide by what he doesn't agree with. Is this the way to run a democratic country?
If we don't actively seek out the truth behind the headlines we WILL lose the small amount of individual freedom we have left. It is already happening, and I want it to stop.
Thankfully we still have elections, so start paying attention, because pretty soon we may not! |
